We have four science experiments in process and the students are actively engaged and excited about the projects.  The experiments are:

       1.  What is the effect of fish on the growth of corn?

       2.  What is the effect of vermicompost on the growth of strawberries?

       3.   What is the effect of light on the germination of sunflower seeds?

       4.   What is the effect of soil temperature on the germination of watermelon seeds?

We need to collect data and water the experiments during the fall break.  I am asking that each student doing a group science fair experiment in the garden participate in a minimum of three data collections.  Data collection and watering will be in the Hope Garden on the following dates and times.  Each session should not last more than 20-30 minutes.  Your assistance and follow through is greatly appreciated.

              Sunday October  3 at 4:00pm
              Monday OCtober 4 at 4:00pm
Wednesday October 6 at 4:00 pm
              Friday October 8 at 4:00pm
              Sunday October 10 at 4:00pm
              Monday October 11 at 4:00pm
Tuesday October 12 at 4:00 pm

All students are invited to come and help take care of the garden during break and are welcome to participate in any and all of the times above.  Those interested in working more than 20 minutes are invited to stay for the entire time I am here (probably 1 -1/12 hours).

Thanks and loo

Have you observed our garden lately.  We have a problem with failure to sprout and thrive.  Many of the corn seeds have not sprouted.  We have planted beans around the bean poles twice and there is nothing happening there.  Only half the lettuce beds are showing signs of growth.  Lets do some research  and see how we can help our plants grow better.  Post you findings here!
